Reliance Chairman- Mukesh Ambani (Asia's richest man) in 2019 disclosed a deal about entering the Blockchain industry.
Now In 2020, an Abu-Dhabi investor Mubadala Investment Company has invested in Reliance and Reliance jio, India's digital service platform. An investment of about $1.2 Billion has been finalized. Mubadala has been known to invest in other blockchain ventures as well.
This news comes just a month after Facebook finalized a deal with Reliance Jio as well of about $5.7 Billion for a 9.99% stake in Reliance Jio. India has a huge potential of Cryptocurrency and Blockchain market and it is very much possible that Jio is looking for implementing blockchain technology into their digital payment system. Jio being India's largest telecom provider will also immensely help in mass crypto adoption in India.
Facebook on the other hand is also looking heavily into its payment systems as it recently re-branded its digital wallet to Novi.
It is safe to say that India will be one of the hottest destinations for Crypto and Blockchain in the coming future.
