Alright so we are all excited for the bitcoin halving happening in about the next 48 hours where bitcoin will drop from 6.25 BTC miner per block down to just 3.125 BTC per block a rather big reduction again per day of the amount of bitcoin to be mined now and really there's not much left in terms of new inflation for bitcoin.

Part of that hype brings us to Splinterlands where we have a new event! This event being called Baron's Bounty!

This event a a burn style type of event to celebrate the bitcoin halving happening. So far a little over 175,000,000 million DEC/ credits have been spent on the event. I'm unsure on how many vouchers where burned as that's not a stat currently displayed on the chart. That's roughly $175,000 so far in value that was burned.

Now the real thing I'm waiting to see is just how far we push over $200,000 and the main reason for that is because $200,000 is what was being asked of the DAO which got rejected. This means all profits will be going to the company on this and not to the DAO which is ok as I think many people (including myself) thought that we would be hard pressed to hit $200,000 with the way things have been. Of course I would LOVE to be proven wrong here for sure and with just $25,000 left to go it seems like I just might be proven wrong.

Many of the heavy hitters would have already pushed in however as there's a early bonus that keeps reducing as time goes on.

This bonus is actually pretty big for every 1 point you earned it's currently multiplied by 2.71x points. Tomorrow that will reduce down to 2.57x points.

Now for myself I feel like this point system could use a little work but that's a story for another day.

The Cards

There are two cards you can burn for at the moment.

Personally I picked up 7 of the Henchling enforcers of which all ended up being normal foil cards. I'll most likely save up a bit more and pick up just one Baron Fyatt and cross my fingers it comes in at gold.

The main reason why I currently don't have much to burn in this event is because all of my DEC has been being pushed to opening up all 141 plots of land.

Prizes

As you burn DEC, Vouchers and credits for these cards you're also going to have a few chances to win some great prizes. Currently I have 3 chances myself.

Now out of this bunch the only thing I would really care to have is going to be land or a runi. A runi mainly because it would be my first one and land because well I believe later on in the game you simply can't have too much land.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens with this event. It is only 14 days long or two weeks which might get people to push a litter harder as I believe older ones ended up being a solid month from what I remember.
