Vitalik Openly Talks About When He Sold a Portion of his ETH

Ethereum (ETH) co-founder Vitalik Buterin revealed on August 17 via Twitter that he had sold and donated some ETH at $700, about half of the token’s all-time high of $1,432.

  • Buterin would have sold his ETH for during the mania of late 2017/early 2018
  • Buterin also revealed that he had not bought Bitcoin (BTC) after 2017
  • The Ethereum Foundation sold ETH at $1,200 and used the funds for development and grants
  • Russian-Canadian programmer suggested to the foundation to sell 70,000 ETH at that price, which has given it a large financial cushion
  • Vitalik has been in the news lately for his views on the DeFi market, and admitted that he hadn’t done much yield farming
