The creator of Kusama is Gavin Wood who created it in 2019 and he is the founder of Polkadot (DOT) and former CTO and co-founder of Ethereum. Kusma remains to be a canary network for Polkadot ecosystem.  Kusama actually makes developers to test and experiment with new blockchain environments and decentralized applications (Dapps) before releasing them on the Polkadot network.

However Kusama KSM is tradable on exchanges with the current price of $36+ as per the president.  By 2030, the price will soon escalate to more than $230. However it has had its highest of over $600.
