Walking through the pine groves in search of slippery jack, we can very often meet other species of mushrooms that prefer similar environments. Such fungi include, among others, Wodnicha late.

The cap of this mushroom can reach several cm in diameter, not more than 12-13. The young fruiting body has a semicircular shape, which changes to concave as it grows. The surface is smooth and becomes sticky, slippery and slimy when it rains. The color of the hat is brown, dark brown, olive brown.

At the beginning, the leg is also white, but with time it turns orange, just like the badges. The shape is cylindrical. It is quite thin and hollow inside.

The whitish-yellow flesh has a slight mushroom flavor and aroma. The mushroom is edible, but not very popular with mushroom pickers. It is not suitable for drying, but it works well in soups, sauces and vinegar marinades.
