Russula aurea's hat is multicolored. Yellow, orange and red colors are intertwined there. It can reach up to 9 cm in diameter. When young, it has a semicircular shape, becomes flat over time, and in old age it can become concave. The surface of the hat is smooth, the edges do not have visible stripes.
