By the pond - some autumn and winter memories

By madventure | Nature, Photography | 21 Jul 2025

It's gotten a bit cooler—or rather, cold, because 14 degrees Celsius in July is unfamiliar to me. So I visited my gallery of autumn and winter photos and decided to post them.

My favorite place to watch the sunset, especially, is the Maroko Pond near my apartment. I'm near this pond almost every day, and the sunsets there always fascinate me.

This location has its limitations, however, as the sunsets are spectacular at any time of year except summer. In summer, the sun is quite high, and the sunset unfortunately ends behind the buildings and is not visible.

The most spectacular period is the beginning of March and the end of September, when the sun is visible until it disappears below the horizon.

But besides sunsets, the sun's journey very low on the horizon is a beautiful sight. This occurs during the winter months, when the days are very short.

The conditions for sunset viewing aren't great these days. However, those living on the top floors of southwest-facing apartment buildings have the best conditions. One day I'll have to get the keys to the roof and take some, hopefully, exciting shots.
