
Rhizina undulata - Mushroom reaches a diameter of 20 to 80 mm, but there are also sporocarps with a diameter of up to 150 mm; thin - it reaches a thickness of 2 to 4 mm; partially empty - from the substrate side; it has a chestnut-brown, red-brown, chocolate color on the surface, while the part on the substrate side is whitish, creamy or yellowish with numerous mycelium lines resembling roots, with which it is attached to the ground; it has a discoid-convex shape with numerous undulations and humps; the edge of the young fruiting bodies is rounded and lighter - white or cream.
Flesh whitish to ochraceous, waxy and brittle in young sporocarps, and older in the skin and leathery; pleasant smell; mild taste.
Occurrence: from July to October in pine forests, on scum, often directly next to charcoal, on the ground or as a parasite on the roots, very often in large groups, not infrequently.
Value: inedible.
