I am not a fortune teller, and there is no way to show that what happened to one of the biggest stable coins, UST, will happen to all stable coins, but...
I wrote a post a few days ago about fiat currency and crypto pegged to that currency, and what I believed would happen.
I don't have the answers to any crypto related subject, or issue, but what I do have, is a theory.
So, the post that I was going to write just one day before the Terra network collapsed, is what I am writing now.
Many people give me downvotes when I bring up subjects like "The Great Reset" and "Agenda 2030", and things of that nature.
But why are there folks who have literally seen the video where it is said, "you will own nothing and be happy", the ones who don't like it when I talk about it's negative aspects?
It could be that most don't know what the IMF, the WEF and several other organizations are about.
Going into that would take a few posts, so in this I am just going to focus on the so called "stable coins".
A stable coin is a currency that has been pegged to a fiat currency to keep the price "stable", normally 1 USD as is the case because the dollar is still considered the "reserve currency of the world.
The coins price remains the same during the violent swings if the crypto market so that when a crypto is tanking, folks can trade whatever coin they have for the sure stable price of the stable coin.
Whomever issues the coin, NORMALLY has the equivalent in fiat to back the coin.
So, I purchase 1 million USD, I can now make a stable coin with a supply of 1 million.
The coin is backed by the fiat currency, and no matter if the fiat loses value, (purchasing power) the coin is pegged to the fiat, not the purchasing power.
So for example, if today, $1 bought me a gallon of milk, that same stable coin will also be able to purchase that 1 gallon of milk.
Let's say tomorrow the same $1 now only gets me 1/2 gallon of milk, that means the purchasing power had fallen, and therefore the stable coin connected to it will also only get me 1/2 gallon of milk.
This, my friends is a problem.
Let's say there was a coin connected to the Ruble, before Russia attacked Ukraine.
Shortly after the conflict started the Ruble started to lose its value. Now, the stable coin attached to it would also have tanked, and therefore the project would be over.
This is what we are facing when it comes to worldwide inflation.
Prices for goods are rising, and in the USA, there is the beginning signs of more inflation coming.
Inflation, in simple terms, is stolen wealth. I worked hard for that fiat currency, but I can buy less and less with it.
The USD is the world reserve currency, and it's purchasing power is dwindling.
So many stable coins are pegged to the USD and I see a time when the USD will be useless.
What I see are more and more countries turning their backs on the USD, and forming their own crypto blockchains.
All pegged crypto will depeg, and be useless as well.
The time is coming when "The Great Depegging" will happen, and folks will be in the same situation as many see themselves in with UST.
I understand that USTs issue is with the misstep of Terra/UST buy/burn, algorithm and all of that nonsense, but it does provide an important lesson for people to learn from.
I see it as a sort of Harbinger of the world currency crisis to come.
By 2030, I doubt any world currencies that we see today will be around...it said to be a brave new world.
But that's just what I see, and how do we overcome?
Well, I also see better things from good people coming.
The Great Depegging will happen, but along with it, we should see cryptos pegged to physical things...
Food, drinkable water, clothes, and whatever else we use in life.
A coin pegged to a crop that can be processed and even delivered to your house.
A coin that can track your order, from the second it's planted, to the moment the processing is over, and let you know at what time the food will arrive.
This is just what I see, and maybe I am wrong.... maybe, but I don't think so.
Let me know in the comments below your thoughts on stable coins and where they will be in the coming years.
Thanks for reading, and have a great day.
