We HOPE for a lot of things in life, and most of those things are to better our position while we are alive, and to help our children when they are of age.
In the bible, we read in Hebrews 11:1a, that Faith is a SUBSTANCE...it is the substance of things hoped for.
But what is this talking about, really?
The chapters preceding 11 is talking all about who the messiah is, what he would do and how he would bring salvation to his people.
In another post in the coming days, we will look into Hebrews 10 and talk about how it is actually more connected to the Greek Septuagint, than it is our regular Hebrew old testaments...
But in chapter 10 we read that a body was given to him so he would be the required sacrifice and then later be raised in glory.
Now continuing into chapter 11, we are told that Faith is the substance of "things" hoped for.
What Paul is telling us here is that Faith is the BODY of things hoped for, because the substance he is talking about is the resurrected body.
The body we all "hope" for.
Faith is the resurrected body we hope for, and the evidence of things not seen.
We don't see the resurrected body of Yashua, we believe he has one, and we long for the same, and the proof is the 100s of eyewitnesses, this proof is the "evidence" not seen by us in OUR time.
They saw it, wrote about it, and knew that one day they, along with us, would receive one.
Faith is the body of proof that we hope for, that is hidden until the "last day" or final 1000 years.
I hope you all have a better perspective of the reality of Hebrews 11, and why having trust in the body of proof presented in the bible is so important.
Have a blessed day.
