How I invested $20K in crypto coins to get some interests

By XawPublish | My token portfolio | 4 Mar 2020

As 2019 was the dream year in the stock market, I wanted to invest part of my earnings into crypto coins to diversify a bit. I already did some crypto trading on Poloniex a few years ago, but it was with a small amount and with some automated trading bot and it was far from being a success...

This time I want to try to be a "hodler" and use the new opportunities of companies surfing the Decentralized Finance (DeFi) trend to provide access to new tokens and interest on my "hodlings".

But first, this is an important disclaimer: I'm not an investment professional or a licensed financial adviser. This post represents my personal opinions and decisions, which may not be appropriate for your personal case. So, this is what I did

During august 2019, I opened an account to Celsius Network

  • I sent the few remaining tokens (for around 4000$) I had in BTC and ETH on Poloniex and Coinbase to Celsius Network
  • I started earning CEL tokens as weekly interest
  • I actually did receive my first 3$ as weekly interest like that.

Then I switched all my browsers to Brave

  • I started earning monthly BAT tokens when seeing ads or getting tips
  • I moved the BAT tokens to my Uphold wallet
  • I then sent those BAT tokens from Uphold to CredEarn and start earning 3% interest on those BAT tokens.
  • I actually did receive 0.01$ interest like that... after 3 months.

End of October 2019, I converted 16000$ to USDC using Poloniex

  • I sent 14000$ of that to Celsius Network
  • I converted 2000$ in ETH, send them to IDEX and buy CEL tokens
  • I finally sent the CEL tokens to Celsius Network
  • Thanks to that, I reached Platinium level at Celsius Network and started earning max interests.

Mid February 2020, I decided to diversify a bit my hodlings

  • Send USDC to Uphold
  • Purchase LBA to maximize CredEarn interest
  • Purchase ETH, BAT, ZCash and BTC
  • Send ZCash and BTC back to Celsius Network
  • Send LBA, ETH and BAT to CredEarn

And this is what I got

On the 1st March 2020, I have

  • 0.56 BTC
  • 4062 USDC
  • 20.28 ETH
  • 8087.01 BAT
  • 41524.57 CEL
  • 16.68 ZEC
  • 10000 LBA

Evolution of the capital invested compared to the interests earned

This last diagram is interesting. It shows that my diversification happened at a particular bad timing, basically when most cryptos currencies started to go down. The portfolio is still somehow flat mostly thanks to the interests earned. In this diagram I count as interest anything coming for free from  Celsius Network, CredEarn or Brave, so it includes interests, referred awards or bonus tokens.

What will come next?

  • I plan to continue posting regularly evolution my crypto portfolio and the new tokens or service I'm using.
  • I also plan to take into account comments and feedback you could have on my hodlings, the services I'm using or the strategy I should employ...
