How I earned $762 of interest in October using Celsius Network, Uniswap, Coinbase, Brave, CredEarn and Binance

Welcome to the monthly review of my token portfolio, it's already the 9th post where I provide an update of the interests received, the services used and the transactions performed during the month. This post tracks what happened in October.

Crypto interests received in October

I received $762 of interest (including crypto interest, browsing interest, Publish0x payments, and any kind of promo code or referee bonus) from the following sources in June:

  • 504 CEL from Celsius Network as interest on my BTC, ETH, CEL, DASH, LINK, SNX, 0x and BAT tokens.
  • 14.122 UNI from Uniswap as reward on my participation to the DAI/ETH liquidity pool.
  • 0.011MKR, 2.93 CGLD and 23.79 ALGO from Coinbase Earn after watching a few videos and answering some quizz
  • 2.215 BAT from Brave from ads and referee bonus.
  • 0.02 USD from CredEarn as interest on remaining BAT. It was the last time, more on that later in the post.
  • 0.05 XTZ from Binance as staking rewards on my XTZ

The following diagram depicts the evolution of the received monthly crypto interests with current crypto prices since I started tracking them.

Transactions realized in October

  • Re-balanced my BTC and ETH to USDC during the beginning of the months as the RSI indicators decreased lower than 40. To do so, I moved the tokens out to Binance and back in my Celsius Network wallet.
  • Re-balanced my USDC to ETH as soon as the RSI indicator increased more than 60. This month I decided that I didn't need to rebalanced my stable coins into both BTC and ETH and I only used ETH... and that was a very bad mistake as BTC had a very nice run in October.
  • Finally closed my CredEarn account. So, I got back some remaining BAT, USD and the staked LBA tokens, I converted them all into BTC and send that in my Celsius Network wallet. I was lucky as I did all that before the CredEarn fraud issue.
  • Converted two of the Coinbase Earn rewards into BTC and send it to my Celsius Network wallet.
  • Converted the last Coinbase Earn rewards into XTZ and send it to my Binance account.

Evolution of the portfolio value in October

  • The portfolio gained around $10K in October
  • CEL went from $1.09 to $1.41, 29% increase, this is the source of performance of the portfolio in October
  • ETH went from $346 to $393, around 13% increase and BTC went from $10575 to $13737, almost 30% increase but the portfolio almost completely missed both increases because of the re-balance timing and my choice to almost avoid BTC this month...

Portfolio evolution in October

I kept my CEL allocation high during the month and I will probably continue doing so while the performance of CEL stay as good. I plan to re-balance the ETH to stable coins then to a mix of ETH and BTC as soon as the RSI indicators rotate again.

Portfolio allocation

Regarding the evolution of the portfolio value vs the capital invested, the portfolio value increased its performance against the value invested plus the interest.

Things to look forward to in November

For November, I'm looking forward to the release of the Smart Yield account of SwissBorg, hopefully the value of the CHSB token will increase and I may move some of my portfolio there if it is as good as it seems.
