Foodbook #636 Oven-fried zucchini


Good morning my friends, let’s do some magic in our kitchen today …. Ready ???


Zucchini 3 pcs large cut into slices
Beer 1 can
Flour for all uses 1 glass of water
Ketchup 2 tbsp
Corn oil for frying


Cut the edges of our zucchini (top and bottom) and cut them into slices. Wash them and salt them, while leaving them in a colander to drain well (for about 20 minutes to remove their liquids). Prepare the batter by putting in a bowl the flour, salt, ketchup and gradually the beer. Mix with a fork until you get a porridge that stands (slightly thick). Heat the oil well in the pan. Dip one by one the slices in our porridge and fry them in hot oil for 2 minutes on each side, until golden brown. We place our zucchini on absorbent paper to eliminate the excess oil and they are ready to enjoy.

* We can accompany them with tzatziki or yogurt sauce.
