Good morning my friends, let’s try cook something fast , easy and very healthy food for today with very short list of ingredients , let’s do it
1 kg of beets
olive oil, vinegar and garlic for serving
Cut the beets by separating the bulb from the leaves.
We clean the bulbs on the outside like an apple. If they are big, we cut them into pieces. We carve them lightly to boil them better.
Put the bulbs in a saucepan and add enough cold water to cover them and a little more.
If we have a pressure cooker, boil them for about 8 minutes from the moment the cooker whistles. If we have a simple pot, cover it and let the bulbs boil until the moment when we pierce them with a fork, we find reduced resistance.
In the meantime we have cut the leaves in two and we have washed them well. We add them to the bulbs. We salt them, we cover the pot again.
After a while, when the leaves sit long enough, stir so that everything enters the boiling broth. In a few minutes they will be ready (time depends on how tender they are).
Remove to a pyrex or platter with a slotted spoon.
Everyone can get leaves and bulbs on their plate to their liking. Cut the bulbs into slices, add oil, vinegar and slices of garlic to each plate. If we have too much left, it is good not to have garlic.
They can be eaten as a salad but also as a meal. They are often accompanied by garlic.
