I recently became aware of the cryptocurrency NANO, that advertises itself as the cryptocurrency that Bitcoin was supposed to be. It is a fee-less, eco-friendly, and instant digital money. I began to do some research and found it interesting enough to pursue so I opened up a wallet using Exodus. Immediately, I began looking for faucets to earn some free NANO and get a taste for what the crypto has to offer.
Faucets
One of the benefits of working with NANO is the fee-less transactions. This means faucets no longer have a minimum withdrawal limit and you no longer have to wait a month of gaining 0.0000001 coins every hour before you can withdraw. After clicking a few links, watching a few videos, and playing a few games I was able to accumulate and withdraw a few dollars worth of NANO absolutely free. The best part was that I got to watch my balance grow in my wallet not spread out across different sites. And as advertised, the transactions were instant. Below are some examples of the transactions I received from faucets.

Community
Another thing I really enjoyed about the currency is the community. The members are very helpful and strongly believe in the fundamentals of the NANO technology. The NANO supporters aren't behind it because it is the latest trend or because it is a currency just to hold for potential profits. They support it because it has the potential to be used in everyday transactions and the ability revolutionize the way we utilize digital currency.
Purchasing my first NANO
With everything I mentioned above, I was motivated to get some actual NANO and not just have fractions of it in my wallet. It is currently not as easy to obtain NANO in the US as compared to other cryptos, though this is changing rapidly. For example, Coinbase is still not offering NANO on their exchange. However, I noticed that Coinbase was giving away free crypto for watching videos about different altcoins and since I already had a Coinbase account, I decided to watch the videos and get some free rewards. It turns out I was able to get about $31 worth of different cryptos. I didn't really want these crypto so I ended up using them to get some NANO. To do this, I converted all of them to Stellar (XLM) coins on Coinbase with zero fees for the transaction. I then sent them to changenow.io in order to exchange them for NANO. For the $31 I was exchanging, the fees on changenow.io did not seem very high, I think it was about $0.50. In any case, I now have some actual NANO in wallet and I'm glad to be able to support the community.
