Last night, on the advice of a fellow cyclist, I took a cycling class to learn more about this sport, which frankly was a waste of time.
Upon arrival, I noticed that not a single one of the 15-20 trainees who had come to the class had enough commitment to paddle the way to the class and everybody came using their private cars! It was a disappointment, the worse part is, they criticized me why I cycled my way there. Mostly because there was no place for bicycles and I had to chain my bicycle to the outside railings of the classroom for fear of stealing the bicycle.

Our teacher was someone who had not ridden a bike for two and a half years. We were taught the difference between a “cycle tourist” and a “mountain bike”. Of course, he mostly said their names and talked a little about “downhill” cycling is. Apparently, for these people, cycling is all about medals and tournaments.
The problem is that they only think about professional cycling. Bicycle for them is a professional thing, not a real-life adventure. I think cycling is a way of life, a lifestyle, not just a sport.

When they talk about the best brands of Italian bicycles, Campbell and Shimano, they forget that 90% of people are unable to buy these products at very high prices.

People cycling in stress instead of millions of ugly big cars, that carry 1 maybe 2 persons and we make it look like it is the way it's supposed to be! I like it in the Netherlands… They appreciate life better!

We Iranians have a proverb that says: I am afraid you won’t get to the Kaaba (God’s home), O Arab, Because the way you are headed is to Turkestan.
