Hi, my name is Sébastien, I'm french, 44 years old, 3 children, and I am currently author on the Steem blockchain. Don't say I was an author, as my blog dedicated to faucets is still linked to Steem, so everytime I post an article on Wordpress, it's published automatically to Steem. You will notice I don't use the word Steemit. Why ? Simply because Steemit is just one of the numerous UI that allow authors to write on the Steem blockchain, but there are many others. For my part, there's been a long time since I didn't use Steemit.

You may ask why I'm talking about Steem ? Well, it's simply because it was the very first adventure I experienced in the crypto-world. I joined Steem about 14 months ago, with the hope to earn some STEEM. At this time, one STEEM was worth 4 US dollar. Not bad, and I was dreaming while seeing accounts with nearly 1000 SP. But Steem blockchains have many weaknesses, that make things hard for newcomers.
First, the account creation. It takes a very long time. Very, very long time. The latest blockchain big update, HF20, aimed to fix this, but we must admit it is a big fail. Account creations are still very long to achieve, else you have to pay an instant account creation. Not user-friendly.
Then, the SP mechanism is complex to understand for newbies, and it is very hard for them to get decent votes on their first blog posts. Indeed, as you need to have a big SP to have a big vote, the system is unfair, and is better for investor than for authors. You can be a very good blogger, if you have a small SP, you will get few votes, or no votes at all. For my part, I accumulated 900 SP in 14 months, worth $300 at this time.
Finally, the fact that everything is hosted on the blockchain makes it a paradise for bots. If you are clever enough, you can develop a bot that will post automatically and grab votes, so at this time nearly nobody really reads your posts, votes are casted automatically, even welcome messages for newcomers are made by bots (I received about 15 bots messages when I registered, all unuseful for most newcomers...
So that's why I decided to give Publish0x a try, to see if things are really different, and if the rewarding system is worth it. Now I'm gonna check how it works, and will come back very soon, I hope, for new posts ! See you !
Seb.
