Eighth in a series of deeply intimate "strange epigrams" for two glass armonicas, exploiting the ethereal qualities of this instrument. The third dance movement in a row, this is a "plaintive Saraband" featuring an expressive, gestural melody within a contrapuntal web producing some startlingly unusual harmony, ending resolutely on a sort of modified imperfect authentic cadence. The painting in the video is "Dancing Fairies" by August Malmström.
