The story of the Rastak group began in the summer of 1997 when a creative Persian musician named Siamak Sepehri started a band with the help of music students and young researchers, all of whom had concerns about preserving and disseminating Iranian folk music.

Their goal was to revive the original music of the Iranian people, as an important and identifying element, and therefore, took the name of Rastak (it means a new branch that grows from the base of a tree) to be a narrator of Iranian folk music with a new attitude.

To achieve this goal, the members of the Rastak group began extensive research in the field of folk music in different regions of Iran to be able to perform this type of music with new instruments and more popular recreations in a way that does not damage its origins.
This research included traveling to places, meeting with professors and music experts in the regions, and collecting and analyzing such music.

The innovative band has released five albums so far and given numerous concerts in Iran, the United Kingdom, Austria, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, the United States, Canada, Australia, India, Japan, Malaysia, Chile, Poland, Turkey, and Belgium. , Georgia, Kazakhstan, Oman, Iraq, Belarus, Bangladesh, and the United Arab Emirates.

Song: Botorai (Why are you upset with me?) - Iranian Folk Song of Kurd people.
If you see I didn't put any lyrics is because I don't understand Kurdi, (the language of Kurdi people of Iran,) very well myself, I finally asked one of my Kurdi friends to translate this for me to Farsi but she hasn't answered me back yet!
