Hello Everyone!

In this post, I would like to share a personal experience, in having your system hacked. It is not a pretty thing, and it is yet to be fully resolved. Ah, but the light is at the end of the tunnel!

I have always run a multi level Security System, on my computers. Up until recently, it has never been compromised to my knowledge. That all changed when my Internet Provider forced me to upgrade to their latest and greatest program. My old modem failed and they only provided a path to upgrade(and of course more money) After consideration, I decided to proceed. 

After some period of normal appearing service, I started experiencing unusual behavior and error messages. Then the appearance of DNS errors, was followed by a first level Security Breach Warning. To make a long story short, the vulnerable area was indicated and the Specific Breach was Identified as a Specific Vulnerability, within the new modem that was provided, in the new upgrade.

After an encounter, with their Technical Support people, I quickly became aware that they were going to provide no support, What so ever, without my commitment  to pay them. We all know that is a no starter! Why would I be gullible enough to pay them for a problem, that they could very easily be contributing too, or orchestrating to begin with! 

I have been in the Computer Field, for many, many years. After spending valuable time, trying to reason with the support lady, I got the answer that it was impossible to hack my system, through their modem! They would have to charge me to come in and clean my system! LOLOLOL! Not only was their Modem Specifically Identified, within my Secure Net, We used to remote access computers, over phone modems, back in the 80's. We could observe from the background, and take control at any time, and the end user would never know, or was powerless to intervene! And I am supposed to believe her lame attempt to sucker me into paying them!

When I contacted their Customer Service, the Rep seemed Quite Concerned! At this point I do not know if it is because he is concerned about me, as a Customer, or if it is because the Gig Is Up! That is about as much detail, as I am prepared to go into tonight. Maybe some other time, I will share the full story with you. The situation has yet to arrive at a satisfactory conclusion.
