Gothic architecture is renowned for its spectacular constructions of spires and pinnacles and arrow-shaped openings that pierce the heavens.
It aimed to inspire awe and humility in the hearts of all those present in such buildings and fill them with light, allowing sunlight to pour through the magnificent circular windows, commonly called Rose Windows.
When you look at this edifice, you can almost feel the presence of all those who have visited these holy premises over centuries.
At the same time, the composition’s contrast in this photograph is remarkable, as the dark clouds skillfully set off the edifice’s rock details, emphasizing their shapes.
I think Gothic architecture is one of the most beautiful styles of construction, especially in black and white.
