En un planeta distante, una avanzada civilización observaba con ojos ambiciosos a nuestro planeta: era perfecto para ellos pues en poco tiempo agotarían los recursos del planeta que habitaban; de hecho no era el suyo propio, sino que iban explotando planeta por planeta, agotaban sus recursos y pasaban al siguiente y así sucesivamente.

  ¿Pero que pasaba si en ese nuevo planeta había formas de vida que fueran una amenaza a su supervivencia o se resistieran a la invasión?, simple, la aniquilaban y en el caso del planeta tierra, su siguiente objetivo, la humanidad no era rival para su tan avanzada tecnología y su inmenso despliegue bélico.

  Así que llegaron a la tierra de imprevisto, posicionaron sus naves por todas las ciudades importantes ante el asombro de millones de personas que huían despavoridas y los líderes mundiales que no sabían que hacer. Todo era caos y desorden y entonces atacaron: no hubo ciudad en pie que resistiera el embate de sus poderosas armas.

  Claro, los militares no se iban a quedar de brazos cruzados; atacaron con todo lo que tenían, pero nada sirvió, las defensas de los extraterrestres eran impenetrables, los aviones de guerra humanos caían por miles en todas partes. Todo estaba perdido y los invasores estaban seguros que en unos cuantos días la tierra sería suya.

  Parecía que no había nada que hacer, solo huir y esconderse; pero siempre hay un rayo de luz en la oscuridad y en esta ocasión no fue la excepción. Décadas atrás una nave exploradora de estos invasores había caído a tierra producto de una tormenta que enloqueció sus sistemas provocando que se estrellara, fue recuperada por el gobierno de Estados Unidos, llevaba a una base secreta y comenzaron a estudiarla.

  Ahora que la invasión a comenzado, los sistemas de la nave se sincronizaron con los de la nave principal que orbitaba la tierra y sincronizaba las operaciones de ataque de los extraterrestres. Ahí un perspicaz científico se da cuenta de algo importantísimo, pero que había pasado inadvertido hasta el momento: los sistemas informáticos de los invasores no contaban con antivirus, ni firewall ni ningún otro sistema de defensa; y es que la empresa que les vendió dicho sistema les dijo que no eran necesarios, que su producto era muy seguro y que además navegarían 800 veces más rápido por Internet.

  Estaba claro: por ahí podían contratacar y plantar un poderoso ramsonware en la nave matriz, el malware se esparciría a todas las naves restantes dejando inservibles a sus defensas y ahora podrían atacar. Ni tardos ni perezosos el científico y un valiente piloto se embarcaron en la peligrosa operación, el ambiente era tenso, nadie sabía a ciencia cierta si tendrían éxito o no, pero era la única oportunidad, así que todos los ejércitos humanos comenzaron a coordinarse para un ataque masivo tan pronto los sistemas informáticos de los extraterrestres quedaran inutilizados.

  Llegaron a la nave nodriza, quienes sin sospechar nada los dejaron pasar y se acoplaron a un puerto Ethernet de la nave y comenzó el plan: respiraron profundamente y procedieron a implantar el malware. De pronto las computadoras de la nave matriz se reiniciaron solas y apareció en pantalla un aviso de que todos los archivos importantes habían sido encriptados y se exigía el pago de 0.5 Bitcoins para liberarlos, junto con la dirección de una cartera para depositarlos.

  Los comandantes alienígenas no daban crédito a lo que veían en sus pantallas y sospechando que la nave que acaba de conectarse a su sistema era la responsable ordenaron que fuera cateada, por lo que había que emprender la retirada. Pero como dice la ley de Murphy "si algo va a salir mal, entonces saldrá mal" resulta que el conector de red estaba en mal estado y ahora no se podían desconectar, había que hacer uso del plan B: disparar un misil nuclear hacia la nave para volarla antes de pasara otra cosa, y eso hicieron.

 Gracias a los destrozos ocasionados por el disparo pudieron liberarse y ahora solo contaban con minutos para salir de ahí, lo lograron con mucho esfuerzo no sin antes ser perseguidos por los enfurecidos enemigos; pero logrando salir a tiempo pues la nave explotó justo en sus espaldas y mejor aún: todas las naves ahora tenían el ramsonware que había dañado sus defensas, ahora podían atacar sin problemas y así todas las naves extraterrestres fueron derribadas.

Lecciones aprendidas de esta invasión:

  Siempre actualicen sus sistemas operativos y tengan activados sus antivirus y firewalls, y tampoco nunca se les ocurra invadir otro planeta sin tener sus sistemas informáticos al día. Que tengan paz.

  It seemed like there was nothing to do but run away and hide; but there is always a ray of light in the darkness and this time was no exception. Decades ago, an explorer ship belonging to these invaders had fallen to earth as a result of a storm that drove its systems crazy, causing it to crash. It was recovered by the United States government. It led to a secret base and they began to study it.

  Now that the invasion has begun, the ship's systems synchronized with those of the main ship orbiting the Earth and synchronized the aliens' attack operations. There a perceptive scientist realizes something very important, but that had gone unnoticed until now: the computer systems of the invaders did not have antivirus, nor firewall or any other defense system; And the company that sold them said system told them that they were not necessary, that their product was very secure and that they would also browse the Internet 800 times faster.

  It was clear: they could counterattack and plant powerful ransomware on the parent ship, the malware would spread to all the remaining ships, rendering their defenses useless and now they could attack. Neither slow nor lazy, the scientist and a brave pilot embarked on the dangerous operation, the atmosphere was tense, no one knew for sure if they would be successful or not, but it was the only chance, so all the human armies began to coordinate for a massive attack as soon as the aliens' computer systems were disabled.

  They arrived at the mothership, who, without suspecting anything, let them pass and docked into an Ethernet port on the ship and the plan began: they took a deep breath and proceeded to implant the malware. Suddenly the mother ship's computers rebooted themselves and a notice appeared on the screen that all important files had been encrypted and required payment of 0.5 Bitcoins to release them, along with the address of a wallet to deposit them.

  The alien commanders could not believe what they saw on their screens and suspecting that the ship that had just connected to their system was responsible, they ordered it to be searched, so they had to retreat. They managed to do so with great effort, but not before being chased by the enraged enemies; but managing to get out in time because the ship exploded right behind them and even better: all the ships now had the ramsonware that had damaged their defenses, they could now attack without problems and thus all the alien ships were shot down.
