Crypto has a funny way of introducing you to things you didn't even know you were looking for. One minute you're trading on a DEX... the next you're climbing a leaderboard!
Welcome to another chapter of my Web3 adventures, featuring Zeru Finance's Zaps and the never-ending mission to turn on-chain activity into something more meaningful.
A few weeks ago, I stumbled across Zaps on the Nucleus campaign and decided to give it a shot. There was only one campaign available at the time, so I thought, why not?
I spent some time trading on Aerodrome, explored the platform, and waited for the epoch to finish. No grand strategy. No secret alpha group feeding me instructions.
Just PVM testing another opportunity while keeping an eye on the leaderboard. I finished 15th on the Zeru Finance leaderboard and got the taste of it!
I had joined to explore a new platform, but the experience introduced me to a much bigger ecosystem than I initially realised.
Zeru Finance wants to look beyond the wallet. Web3 is packed with a plethora of applications, protocols, campaigns, and opportunities.
My rank is weird! Never been a trader, only swapping and bridging staff! However I am 32nd from 26.200 users so 0.13% on the platform!
Every project seems to have its own way of measuring engagement, rewarding users, and building a community. The problem? Everything can feel fragmented.
Your trading activity happens in one place. Your reputation develops somewhere else. Your contributions to a community might be tracked separately!
Finding campaigns is relatively easy. Building infrastructure that connects participation, behavioural intelligence, and on-chain reputation is a much bigger challenge.
Zeru Finance is working on an ecosystem focused on understanding wallet behaviour, analysing capital flows, and connecting activity with reputation and contribution.
Rather than viewing a wallet as just a balance of tokens, behavioural intelligence aims to uncover patterns in how users interact with Web3.
Onchain activity doesn't tell the whole story about a person, and reputation systems need to be designed carefully. This is making participation more meaningful.
The concept is straightforward: participate in campaigns, engage with supported opportunities, and track how your activity translates into leaderboard performance and potential recognition.
Participating gives you a chance to learn how things work, understand the mechanics, and decide whether an ecosystem deserves more of your attention.
If you're a trader... there are good opportunities! My Zeru invite will give you 10% more zaps, and this can make the difference in a campaign!
For people already participating in Web3 campaigns, additional ways to contribute and potentially earn recognition are naturally interesting.
Crypto has spent years experimenting with incentives. Points, quests, trading competitions, referral programmes, and token rewards are parts of the landscape.
Can activity help build a reputation? Can contribution be recognised across different experiences? Can behavioural insights make it easier to understand?
Zeru knows that the incentives might bring people through the door, but the infrastructure is what I'll be watching over the longer term.
Trade smart. Participate wisely. Build your reputation one step at a time. There's $50k in the Aspen competition and another $50k for Ditto traders!
And if you see PVM climbing another leaderboard, just know that somewhere along the way, I probably clicked on something out of curiosity!
