Play2Earn games bloomed in 2021, and the players are saying that Alien Worlds, Splinterlands and Axie Infinity are the best NFT powered games available in the Metaverse. I am playing all three and each one has his unique selling points but my vote will go for Splinterlands.
A new year will come with new trends and I feel like I already discovered the top play2earn game of 2022! Pegaxy is a blockchain game powered by NFTs developed on Polygon-Matic, where futuristic Pegasus horses will race against each other to win rewards. The game was two tokens, Vigorus $VIS - the utility token and Pegaxy Stones $PGX - the governance token.
The game mirrors the Axie Infinity breeding system, using the dual token economic model to provide a multifunctional ecosystem. Each Pegaxy will have elemental variables based in the parents traits. The four races are Klin, Zan, Campona and Hoz, each representing an element. This PEGA is an epic Klin that was borrowed to me by my DeFi Guru to try the game.
Klin are water creature, performing better in rainy weather, Zan are hard working wind creatures that will perform during strong winds, Campona are the rare fire bloodline that can adapt to hot weather, while Hoz are the rarest bloodline. The Hoz Pega are the master of Lightning, the creatures that can master all other elements. The players will register the Pega to a race and will compete against 11 other players. The fastest three will share the $VIS reward pool.
Pega breeding require a male and a female creature, and the dominating bloodline and the parents traits can produce stronger offsprings. The gender of the new Pega is random, with a 50% - 50% ratio. The Pega horses can be sold or rented to other users, thanks to the innovating marketplace and renting system. The scholarship automated payout acts as a rental agreement, and both parts will be able to claim their shares with no issues or complications.
Quarter 1 of 2022 has planned upgrades, the integration of gear and food, stadium sell event and the implementation of skill-based controls. The reward aspects are planned for Q3 and Q4, when the Community Treasury and PGX staking will be introduced.
What's my first impression?
The graphics are amazing and the concept is enjoyable. I know that new features are planned for implementation and the game will keep improving. The tokenomics are creating powerful dynamics that are beneficial for both new and old players. The main token, Pegaxy Stone or $PGX feels highly under rated! It was $0.25 a week ago and now has surged 27.70%, at $0.33 per token. Comparing the game with Axie Infinity ... it can get much valuable once it gets mainstream.
The Vigorus ($VIS) can still be earned at a high rate, and the small value makes it a great token to HODL. The demand will grow as more and more players will breed their PEGA, and using both Pegaxy Stones and Vigorus for the breeding process will keep both tokens trending.
Did you ever played Frankie Dettori Magic 7? This is what Pegaxy reminded me ... but with a Play2Earn aspect not Pay2Play! ChocoMoito VI looked like a top pega from the first races, finishing in the top in nearly all the races.
From the first 25 races in day one, my Pega won 3 off them and finished top 3 few times as well. The borrowing (scholarship) system is already integrated in the game, as Pega owners can lend their assets to other players and each will receive their share automatically. The reward can be claimed every 2 weeks from My Assets - My Profit tab.
My share of the bounty was 25% so I received 21 VIS for every race I won, and slightly less for 2nd and 3rd place. After 25 races I earned 92 VIS, which at today's price is valued at 4.44 USD. Let's dive into some numbers as it took me about 30 minutes to play all races, which gives a $8.80/hour pay rate. This is nearly as good as what I am paid at work, but earned while playing! The random results will decide on the daily gains but if this will be the average result then Pegaxy can earn approximately $135 per month as Play2Earn rewards. GAME ON!
