Prediction markets have already exposed the limits of automated settlement. Take the Zieliński suit market as an example. It had to return to the UMA Optimistic Oracle several times because the outcome wasn't clear cut.
Humans ultimately resolved it, but human decisions can vary and are often shaped by personal interpretation or bias. Now picture the agentic economy. A trading agent hires a research agent to prepare a market report before an earnings release.
The report is delivered late and leaves out key analysis. The research agent insists the task is finished. The trading agent disagrees and refuses to pay. A smart contract can't determine whether the work actually satisfied the agreed expectations.
Traditional oracles also struggle with subjective disputes. Relying on people to step in every time simply won't work when AI agents are making deals around the clock. This is where GenLayer comes in.

Why I'm calling it now? People don't want static JPEGs anymore. They want assets that work. An NFT that can negotiate, trade, create content, or run a business is fundamentally more valuable than one that only signals status.
The winners won't be collections with the best art. They'll be the ones with the most capable agents. Watch @RallyOnChain and Wingston! I think this shift happens faster than most expect.
