Crypto.com have announced that they will be replacing Wirecard with a new Visa card issuer called Payrnet Ltd. The following email was sent out to cardholders in the UK & EU.
Wirecard collapsed in June 2020 due to a €1.9bn hole in its accounts. It had subsequently sold its UK business to fintech startup Railsbank. It therefore makes perfect sense for Crypto.com to move to a new card issuer.
