‘A penny for your thoughts now baby. Looks like the weight of the world’s on [my] shoulders now’*

I want to invite you on a little trip to infinity. Possibly in a way that you had never thought of, or maybe if you imagined it, it will be interesting to share it. Because, at least in my head, infinity was something that expanded towards the immense, always outwards, upwards, towards out there. The eternal and immortal were the extreme frontier. The superlative of the maximum. Wider, farther, higher. The inexhaustible was looking through the window of heaven at the destiny of the universe… Yes, in that place the infinite was evident! And when we contemplated how gigantic and enormous all of that was, we were surprised at how small we are. In Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying I cited the Pacific Rim opening scene in which the main character discovers that he was looking in the wrong direction:
When I was a kid, whenever I’d feel small or lonely, I’d look up at the stars, wondered if there was life up there. Turns out I was looking in the wrong direction…(Raleigh Becket, Pacific Rim opening scene, 2013)
This morning — one more routinary, monotonous and sometimes a bit boring mornings — I found myself falling into the infinite chasm, dwarfed, tiny, microscopic, infinitesimal, tiny, inferior… like a matryoshka in which dolls appear incessantly, one after another, each time smaller, constant, surprising, exhausting. Like a game that never ends, more and more lesser things. Up to when? How far can the mind go in deconstruction of reality? Until infinity, but you will never get to know it, there is no physical, verbal, genetic, visual, temporal, spatial, spaciotemporal way of arriving at the entrance door of that imperceptible infinity.
These are times of deconstruction, winds of decompositions of values, reality, culture, principles, languages, time, space and space-time are blowing. The apparent is the true and the real debatable. It seems that we are determined to search for the boundless by a useless, crushing, apathetic, bland, childish, insubstantial, anodyne path. The maximum minimum idols Cronon and Hodon will also succumb like everything ethereal and material when the inexhaustible abyss continues to go even lower.
The letter or moneme, the atom, the gene, the pixel will also pass through the sieve of disintegration like the individual today, like biology, science and politics. When will it be the time for reality?
