Another week has gone by in my challenge to open 1000 Chaos Legion packs, and I will closely monitor and transparently share all details about the challenge in these posts.

Road to opening 1000 Chaos Legion Packs Week 41 Update

The fallout from FTX continues to wreak havoc across the crypto markets, and splinterlands wasn’t immune to this fallout. In an official post, the splinterlands team detailed that they cut 45% of the team to ride out the crypto bear market. Read the post if you are looking for more details, but this is the first time that I have seriously considered whether I need to end this challenge and look to sell off my splinterlands collection. Subsequently, I decided to put this on hold and focus on the long-term as I still think splinterlands has another bull run in the next 2-3 years. Time will tell, but I will continue with this challenge and see it to its conclusion. As for the pack opening, it’s as if the RNG gods were mimicking the bear market announcements, as this week couldn’t mimic the euphoria of last week.

Key Cards

I need one more Soul Fiend, and then I will have enough to combine and level it up to level two for my alt account. I didn’t envisage this challenge would supplement my alt account with monster and summoner cards for the Modern battle format, but it made sense to do this as this challenge went on. I have nine more monsters (Torrent Fiend, Fungus Fiend, Soul Fiend, Uriel the Purifier, Djinn Muirat, Corpse Fiend, Zyvax Vuul, Carnage Titan, and Legionnaire Alvar) to collect (enough cards to level it up to max playing level for the alt account that plays in Gold I).
