What IF you Were "Reborn as a Space Mercenary"?

What IF you Were "Reborn as a Space Mercenary"?

Normally when we talk about Isekai, the first image that comes to mind is someone being run over by the famous Truck-kun, suffering some effect from a spell, or dying... However, even though the beginning of the process may vary from anime to anime, a certain ending point ends up repeating itself many times...

The point of intersection between most Isekai is precisely the context and the world to which they appear, are summoned, or reincarnate. Regarding the world, it's usually a feudal-style world, with magic and swords without significant scientific advancements due to the use of magic. And regarding the context, the person appears already as a hero with the full support of the kingdom, and their objective is to defeat the enemy of that kingdom. This alone summarizes about 80% of Isekai.

The thing is, in the anime Reborn as a Space Mercenary, as the name suggests, the story takes a completely different turn from what is conventional in Isekai. Can you imagine sleeping after a long day at work and then, instead of waking up in your bed, waking up sitting in a spaceship inside the famous game world called Stella Online?

I'll be much appreaciated if you Votes, Reblogs or give any Tips. Thanks and have good reading! 🍀

What If You Were "Reborn as a Space Mercenary"?

That's exactly what happened to worker Takahiro Satou, who appeared inside a spaceship called Krishna within the universe of a game he had apparently played before called Stella Online.

The beginning is quite abrupt and without much explanation; everything happens and you just have to accept it, unlike standard isekai stories that try to explain the inexplicable. In this anime, there's no reason why Takahiro appeared inside the spaceship; he's simply there, and immediately knows how to use the controls and starts destroying space pirates and collecting their loot.

It's quite unusual because a normal human would find the situation completely strange, they would freeze up when dealing with space pirates. Furthermore, at the beginning of the anime, what appears to be his character is shown collecting rare loot, and when he appears the situation is different, but he's already carrying a lot of rare metals on his ship.

After defeating the mercenaries, magically among the loot is a map to a place where he can sell the items. Even though he is extremely suspicious because he has no documents or records for his ship, he ends up being accepted, precisely because he is too suspicious for Lady Serena, the daughter of a marquess, who says she will buy his metals.

The loot ended up generating 2,669,000 Ener, which would be enough for him to live there for 40 years. I thought it was cool that they disclosed some values, such as 15 Ener being the cost of food in a day. The place he's in is the Tarmein System, which has plenty of natural resources, but is teeming with space pirates.

Later, when he goes to the city, he meets a more experienced mercenary who is a Silver rank Space Elf and who helps him register. The level he receives is gold, almost the highest possible, but he starts as bronze. This level thing is mentioned at the beginning, but in the next episodes nobody cares about it anymore. One very interesting point is that the anime's ending sequence features the credits appearing on a screen inside the spaceship, which is quite unique.
