Additionally, the U.S. Federal Reserve’s recent rate cuts have shifted investor interest towards high-risk assets like Bitcoin, making it more attractive amid a lower interest-rate environment. Another potential influence on Bitcoin’s rise is the delayed impact of its recent “halving” event, which reduces the rate at which new Bitcoin is mined, creating scarcity and historically leading to higher prices over time.

This isn’t the first time Bitcoin has edged ahead of silver; it briefly took the lead during a growth period in spring 2024. However, as Bitcoin secures the eighth position in the global asset rankings, it faces new targets, with the UAE’s oil giant, Saudi Aramco, next in line. Tesla, led by Trump supporter Elon Musk, is also on the rise, with its shares outpacing Bitcoin’s daily growth rate.

While Bitcoin’s market cap has made strides, it remains far behind the ultimate benchmark, gold, which has a capitalization of $17.615 trillion—ten times Bitcoin’s current valuation. For Bitcoin to challenge gold’s dominance, its price would need to rise dramatically, reaching roughly $890,000 per BTC. This distance highlights the challenges Bitcoin still faces as it continues to climb the ranks of global assets.
