It's time to add a seat at the crypto table! Despite the macroeconomic situation and the crypto winter, blockchain technology is increasingly adopted by companies and this time it is Spotify, the leading music streaming platform in the world, to announce the upcoming NFT on its app!
"Spotify is running a test where you help a small group of artists promote their existing third-party NFT offerings through their profiles," a Spotify spokesperson told Music Ally.
Steve Aoki and The Wombats, already active in the crypto field, are two of the artists who will take part in the testing phase of the functioning of the NFTs. The testing phase is currently underway for "selected" users of the Spotify Android app in the US, who can preview NFTs on artist profile pages.
Spotify's idea is primarily to allow users to keep the NFTs of their favorite artists on the platform (and who knows maybe in the future they will announce their own NFT marketplace) enjoying exclusive benefits, such as a portion of the song royalties.
We will see in the coming weeks, how Spotify will move but the fact that the Swedish music streaming giant is implementing the blockchain in the App is a good signal for the crypto mass adoption!
