The initial dip was largely attributed to a sell-off in major U.S. tech stocks, spurred by concerns over China’s new AI player, DeepSeek. Companies like Nvidia saw sharp losses, with its stock plunging 13% in a matter of hours.

The true “bottom,” however, may still lie ahead, as the market braces for upcoming earnings reports from tech giants like Microsoft, Meta, and Tesla, as well as updates from the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC). According to Kendrick, “This is when we’ll start approaching critical levels for Bitcoin.”

Trump’s Policies Could Shape the Future

The coming months are also likely to be influenced by macroeconomic factors and policy decisions from the Trump administration. Interestingly, Kendrick notes that the risks of a significant Bitcoin crash have been mitigated by a recent executive order from President Trump. This directive explicitly called for the creation of a task force to explore the establishment of a “national reserve” for Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

This policy move has further bolstered the case for buying Bitcoin during the current dip. Standard Chartered’s broader outlook remains highly optimistic, projecting Bitcoin to hit $200,000 by the end of 2025.
