#7 - Early July - Post vacation update

Hello there!

Back from vacation with the family at Disney World and Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. We (my fiance Flyppers and I) did not hunt very hard as the priority was vacation with the kids.

Hunting in Disney World and Universal Studios

The hunting grounds in Disney World and Universal are not too bad; there are several blue system vaults and a number of Uservaults. We were able to hit a number of vaults. Hunting hard over there would mean skipping attractions or at least not getting into waiting lines. When the priority is family fun, you can’t focus on CHW (blasphemy, I know). We hoped to be able to at least complete the 8 levels of walking quests. It was not the case. You do not cover enough distance in between the different attractions to achieve level 8 when you have to manage kids and the Disney App at the same time while not going out of your way to hit a vault. The most we managed to do while visiting is level 5. One important piece of advice: use your own data plans to hunt. The onsite free WIFI is spotty and unreliable for the game to detect the steps properly.

Canada Day and 4th of July Events

I hope you were all able to hunt to get the special country blueprints and all the resources required to print at least one cubie. From all the comments I could read on Discord, the guaranteed resource drop in all vaults seems to be a good trade-off for the missing crypto. On my part, I did not do the Canada Event as I was in Florida but I did already have the Canada BP and Cubie having done last year’s. However, we were able to do the 4th of July while we were at Universal Studios. I already had the USA Cubie BP that I had purchased last summer in the Auction House (AH) but did not have the resources to print it. Flyppers quickly got her USA Cubie BP. We got plenty of cowboy hats but came short on footballs due to our limited hunting. We were able to get the missing footballs from the AH when we returned home.

What to do with the Headquarters while on vacation?

You're going away from home and you are anxious about not getting the mystery boxes? Obviously you need to bring your HQ with you. Is it worth the green key? Oh! Yes! No matter the number of days you are away.

Warning!!! Pro Hunter Tip (credit to Flyppers for figuring this out): Since the Mystery boxes got boosted when the key vaults were removed, moving your HQ frequently while on a trip is worth it as long as you are able to collect at least two mystery boxes. The trick is that when you drop your HQ, the mystery box for that time frame appears if you have not claimed it earlier in the day. So you can drop your HQ 5 minutes before the reset, claim the mystery box, wait for the reset and claim the new one. You can then destroy your HQ right away and move on. Although you could try your luck for only one mystery box, the most you would lose is 2 blue keys (if the drop is only 8 blue keys) or gain nothing (if you get only 10 blue keys). If you are lucky, you get 50 blue keys, 20 blue keys, or 2 green keys. That’s why this strategy is more worth it for a double mystery box.

During our trip, we drove to Florida from Canada. When we stayed over for the night in a hotel, we would put our HQ at the hotel, get at least two mystery boxes and then destroy it to continue driving. We repeated the process until we got to our destination. Once in Disney we put down our HQs for the entire week and moved them to Universal Studios.

Summer Cubie recap

Did you pick up a Summer Cubie BP in the shop? I did but I did not print it… leaderboard strategy. You did not have the chance to get one? Don’t worry it will come back next summer as its supply was not exhausted. Its animation is very cool and it looks very nice on top of Uservaults.

Shark Week!

Thanks to Korlithiel for suggesting that the Shark BP comes back for Shark Week (week of July 24th on Discovery). Illusionweaver agreed to bring it back and decided that it should be a yearly event. Once the current Shark BP stock is depleted (500 total), a new BP should be introduced. Since it is an Epic BP, it will cost 2 red keys in the shop. The Shark Cubie is very sought after and it is suggested that all water related cubies will have a special use in the future structures.

Hunter’s Lodge is a live stream from the developers to show what is coming up in future game updates. The next Hunter’s Lodge is this Friday at 4PM EDT on Youtube. After the livestream, the developers join Discord to do a live Q&A session. I can’t wait for it to know what is coming up. Hopefully we will have an update as to when Tagging, HQ level 5 upgrade and structures will be implemented. You can find the links below.
