His fault or not

Floored!

That was exactly how Kyle felt as he watched the goddess in front of him take a seat. Her beauty was ethereal.

He studied her from the back. Her light brown curls cascaded around her shoulders complementing her dark skin and her figure looked a little lean. Fragile, he thought.

Someone took a seat beside him and in the process brushed his arm, Kyle jerked from his thoughts and flushed miserable. He couldn't believe he was having such thoughts about a girl he hasn't even spoken to.

Although his therapist, Dr Jaine, had tried telling him that his past failures approaching girls wasn't his fault, she failed to convince him totally. They had all ended in embarrassment, some slapped him and others plainly ignored him.

He decided to try just one more time, he just couldn't let this one go.

As the bus stopped,  everyone disembarked one after the other. Kyle mustered up courage and tried to be manly in his walking as he caught up with the dark skinned beauty.

The girl noticed someone beside her and she looked up, confusion masking her face.

Kyle took that as a clue to introduce himself. "Hi," he muttered. He smiled glad his nervousness didn't show in his voice.

Or so he thought!

The girl shrinked away like she had just been slapped and fear washed over her features. She took a step away, then another, and another, then she ran.

Kyle was unmoving, shocked to bits and totally speechless. He knew he should be happy, at least this girl didn't insult him and he was even acknowledged for a second which was an improvement.

But he wasn't, instead he was unnerved. And baffled. What made her shrink away like that?

He walked away dejected. Her face came up in his thoughts. The small pretty nose, her natural perfectly shaped eyebrows, and those luscious lips of hers. The he thought of how she ran away from him,  the image of her shrinking away filtered in.

Kyle shook his head vigorously. Dr Jaine was wrong after all. The problem was with him and not the girls. He was never going to approach a girl again.

It was his fault.
