Today is the first day I've danced, properly danced, since having a minor surgical (but invasive and painful) procedure 3 weeks ago... it's also a year to the day since I dislocated my knee whilst performing on stage. It feels apt dancing amongst the autumn leaves because in just so many ways I feel old at the moment, like my body is falling apart... I often get mistaken for being much younger than I am which in some ways is flattering, others irritating (sometimes I just want to buy the wine or maybe not be spoken down to by someone evidently much younger who has decided I'm a teen-ager) mainly just people not paying full attention. I'm short, I have big eyes and perhaps don't dress like a 43 year old mother of 2 does (in some peoples minds)...but I feel my age. I feel the tiredness, the creaking joints in the morning (especially that knee), the pressure to fulfill all the many responsibilities I have and try to find time for me amidst all that... I look at my body sometimes and just laugh, no, them titties no longer salute the sun, I have grey hair in places decent folk never discuss and it takes so much more to motivate myself to do what I love doing most; dance. 

But today I did, as displayed in the video link above... In my favourite local graveyard to one of my favourite pieces of music, Yumeji's Theme, off the soundtrack from In the mood for love , beautiful film about a love that never quite gets the chance to flourish... Often what inspires me to dance is hearing a new song or remembering a forgotten favourite (like today) and not being able to get it out of my mind...must have listened to this piece of music about 30 times today... Hope you enjoy it too...
