To learn about Linux, you should try using FOSS (Free Open Source Software) - thousands of programs one of which is GIMP (CNU Image Manipulation Program). GIMP can be installed on Linux AND Windows AND Mac. https://www.gimp.org/
When you try and get used to FOSS, you will be ready to install Linux to replace Windows or Mac. There are many places and videos where you can get the basics of GIMP for free. One good video is on Odysee https://odysee.com/@switchedtolinux:0/gimp-tutorial-basic-tools-overview:0?r=2VE9TE45MNvzHZUGmSrZU5XrRcfV5g1b. And that is just one video of many.
There are forums where you can ask specific questions. About that, asking questions, MOST (99%) of the people on these forums are nice understanding empathic people and treat you with respect, but there are some bad apples that want to ridicule you. Just ignore them and look for the real people. Don't let them upset you and you will have a much better time in the forums. Who knows, there are so few of the haters, you may never come across one. I have so, ignore them and get to the answer you want.
FOSS is the way to Linux. FOSS is a group of software that is free but quality software. In another blog of mine, i shared a document that categorized about 70 FOSS that are marked with a (w) to signify the software's ability to be installed on Windows. I updated it around December 10th, 2021. To save you some time, here's the link again: https://pc-tamer.com/download_files/Mostly%20Open%20Source%20Linux%20Apps.docx
