The ETC (Ethereum Classic) coin which suffered a 51% attack on it’s Network on 6th August 2020 causing a reorganization of over 4000 blocks, was, the second such within a week.
The attacker supposedly made at least $1.7 Million USD from this second attack according to Bitquery an Austrian based Blockchain analysis firm.
During this time Bitfinex Exchange lost about 143,000 ETC (approx 1 million USD) and another unidentified Crypto platform lost 95,650 ETC ($680k USD) as the attacker double-spent ETC through these platforms successfully.
The activity of the attacker was invisible as he did not publish any transactions on the network similar to the last attack on 31st July’2020.
These transactions happened during the time when the attacker silently mined the forked blocks.
The attacker collected all the ETC coins to a single address later distributing it to different addresses.

Before these two attacks Ethereum Classic (ETC) previously had such an 51% attack on it's network on January’2019.
