VR equipment allowed the mother to meet her dead daughter again

Sad and strange experiments straight from South Korea. Last week one of the TV stations broadcast another episode of the "Meeting You" series. The focus was on the family who lost their seven-year-old daughter. The girl was decided to play in virtual reality.

In the teardroping finale, the child's mother put on virtual reality equipment on her head, and on her hands she put on special gloves that simulate touch sensations in the name of realism. So armed, she entered the virtual world in which she met her daughter's 3D model.

The virtual girl not only could move, but also performed daily activities, such as reading a book. At the very end, she turned into a butterfly made of light and flew away, probably in order to defeat her depressed mother again, reliving her tragedy. We cannot assess whether the child's mother was finally satisfied that she was given the opportunity to participate in such an experiment, although some observers suggest that such a project could help her cope with the loss of the girl. Or maybe the technology has simply gone too far this time? Time will tell, because it cannot be hidden that such simulations of reality will become more and more popular, whether we want it or not. Currently, computer graphics is at a stage where a trained eye recognizes at first glance that it is a computer-generated model, but the border will be blurred.

Other observers suggest that such ideas are best suited to those struggling with loss, but they should be conducted privately and under the supervision of a psychologist, not on a popular TV show. However, this also shows that there are many such ethical considerations.
