Corleto Peanut Butter

Peanut butter is underrated

By LeftFooted | LeftFooted's Antics | 22 Oct 2025

I'm on the subject of peanut better because I just had banana bread with lunch. I mean, after lunch. Dessert.

But anyway, long story short, I ordered banana bread from a local bakery and they added peanut butter on top of it.

And I've just realised how incredibly overwhelming peanut butter is. It never occurred to me before. It trumps any and every other flavour on the table.

I can barely taste the banana bread, because of the peanut butter.

But I can't hate peanut butter. I remember I was twelve when I first tried it. It was unheard of, a never-seen, never-tried-before thing in the country I was born and raised in.

But we had this friend whose dad was from the UK. And one day said friend was like, "hey so my dad just got back from the UK and he brought back this new thing called peanut butter".

There's another memory I associate with peanut butter.

Koreatown, Los Angeles - November 2019. I moved into a cheap and cheerful hostel and stayed there for about a month. I was in LA for a car show but the magazine that sent me there would only pay for three nights at a hotel (to cover the show). But I wanted to stay for a whole month so I had to figure something out.

Long story short, first day at the hostel I meet B - and B told me the only thing that was included in the price (of the hostel, aside from a bed, obvs) was peanut butter and bread.

I was broke AF back then, and determined not to touch my BTC stash, so I basically survived on a diet of water and peanut butter sandwiches for a month.

Ended up dating B, too.

No complaints.
