LAYOVER Episode 4 - Bad airports (to spend the night)

So far, I've had the admittedly not particularly pleasant chance of spending the night at four separate airports.

The best, or perhaps I should say least worst, was Barcelona Airport, which was alright.

It was large, empty, there were large TV showing movies and tennis matches.

The worst one was Bergamo, which for marketing purposes (I suppose) is always referred to as Milan Airport.

A bit like London Stansted, which is nowhere near Stansted, or Paris Beauvais, which is in a Beauvais, a town that's seven million miles away from Paris.

The airport I'm currently at is sort of in the middle. Not as bad as Bergamo, not as nice as Barcelona.

Good things?

Well, most of the cafes stay open through the night, which means you can sit in a sofa and have coffee or food or tea.

Bad things?

Well, for starters, it's cold. Not sure why. Second, there aren't enough places for everyone to sit. So if you can score a sofa at one of the Starbucks etc early on, you're good. If not, you're screwed. Also, there aren't enough chargers.

Things get a lot better after you go through security, which unfortunately is something you can only do after 3 AM.

Airside, there are more restaurants, more shops, the temperature is much better, there are more seats and marginally more charging points.

So all in all, I'd rate my night at this airport 6.5 out of 10. Maybe 7, if I wanna be generous.
