I have a watch that I only use when I'm home, including for when I go to sleep.
If I wake up in the middle of the night, unless it's the weekend, I want to know how long before I have to get up.
And now it's summertime, so that means that I can sometimes wake up at 5 or 6 and it's fully bright outside, but I still have four or five or three more hours to sleep.
So I want to know.
I use a cheap plastic Casio for that, and some people might say, 'well you could a smartwatch or your phone for that'.
Which is true. But I don't want to do that.
The problem with using your phone to check the time in the middle of the night is that you might find notifications, and if you find notifications, you might fall into the trap. You might want to answer a message. Or you might want to check X, or Instagram, or FB, or whatever.
And that's really bad for you.
With a watch, if I wake up, I just check the time and unless it's time to go to work or close to it, I just go back to sleep, and only check my phone in the morning, when I wake up.
And by the way, the watch I use, like most watches of this type, also has an alarm clock. In case you need it.
Win-win.
