A weird update on sanctions

This is going to be sensitive, so I'm not gonna name names, or locations, but I still want to talk about it because I found it weird.

So I'm currently living in a country where's no Uber, but there are several Uber-style services available.

Most of them have names I'd never heard of before but one of them is attached to a massive company, coming from a country that's currently subject to sanctions.

Even though I'm currently living outside of the UE, and this app is available here, up until a week ago, I wasn't able to use it because my App Store is linked to my account, which was set up in the UK, before being 'geo-updated' to a EU country.

To cut a long story short, the app was available here, but not to me, or anybody else whose App Store account was created in any country that adheres to sanctions.

Then last week, pretty much out of the blue, the app became available to me as well. I found that weird, and just wanted to share.

Normal crypto service will be resumed shortly.
