Polygon Ecosystem

Kevy's First Few Keys of Polygon

     Polygon Adventure #1

As I sit here, with my 3 year old kitten in my lap, on June 8th, 2021 I find myself addicted to the Polygon ecosystem. First a little about how I got to this point of having an epiphany of how Polygon is the future of crypto. Lets start with the simple stuff first like wallets, you can connect your; WalletConnect, Trust Wallet, Zapper.fi, and what seems to be the favorite and most used Metamask. There are many more that I did not mention but here is an ecosystem map if you'd like to follow along and check out the others later.

So you've got your wallet and lets say you're a freelance artist who has seen BEEPLE just cashing in on NFT's and you want a piece of that pie! So you make an NFT in blender and toss that into OpenSea, Rarible, or my personal favorite, Decentraland. OpenSea and Rarible are both NFT marketplaces where you can get paid in crypto for your art. Decentraland is a NFT marketplace as well as an open world game. People are literally paying thousands of dollars(some day trading) for plots of land in Decentraland called parcels. If you own one of these and are in a decent location or have some good developer knowledge. It'd open up possibilities to build a casino on your land, you could set up a new game on your land that you charge people crypto to play, or even come up with your own business. You can even sell the games you develop to other parcel owners!

Now that you've got some capital in your wallet its time to put that money to work for you and guess what the best part about the Polygon mainnet is? The free transaction fees. With transaction fees being so low and people programming faucets for people to tap into every once in a while like matic.supply you can move money around fast and free. So where do you put the crypto to work? Personally, I'm married to Matic so I use AAVE heavily. With AAVE and Polygon having a $40 million liquidity mining deal that will last for a while (and in that time projects will continue to grow and adapt) I've deposited some Matic with it hovering around a combined 9% APR including the Matic bonus rewards plus the 12.53%APR I get for borrowing Matic(even though I pay 8.27% interest). SO IM LITERALLY GETTING PAID TO BORROW. With the borrowed Matic, I then put it into yield farms like Polycat Finance that get insane APR's off selling native tokens which I then repay the debt which adds more Matic to my balance. Yield farms are still a newer concept and some are financially stable due to clever Tokenomics by some clever devs. Although there are risks and rug pulling devs that just abandon their projects and go AWOL but what else did you expect its the internet! So be careful and use the Rug Doctor, honestly its the best resource for new farmers that don't want to be screwed. After you get some Matic deposited into a farm/pool just give it some time to let your money work and come back once a day to harvest.

When you go to harvest these native tokens you'll need to transfer them A$AP Rocky fast because the native tokens are usually always dropping in value unless its something like Polycat. There are a few big companies right now that rule the DeFi swapping sector; SushiSwap, DFYN, Curve, and Quickswap. Which you'll be using constantly to navigate your money into more money. There are also staking opportunities but I've just now been looking into them but the one that I've been keeping an eye on as an investor is Ankr. Would honestly love to know if I'm missing out on any staking opportunities that have higher % returns than yield farms in the comments!

Thanks for reading, I'll try to post every day something new or interesting about the Polygon ecosystem and if I interested you in Polycat use my referral code to help me out!
