On or about February 11, 2021, HARVEST FINANCE announced its intention to hire two developers to bring the Harvest platform to the BINANCE SMART CHAIN. The HARVEST hope in this endeavor is to demonstrate that cross-chain yield farming is not only possible but that it would be beneficial to the entire yield farming ecosystem.

Today, HARVEST FINANCE announced it has deployed its smart contract stack together with 18 instances of vaults, reward pools and strategies onto BSC. According to HARVEST FINANCE, its launch checklist will follow in approximately 36 hours. By way of demonstrating the potential transaction cost savings by this move to BSC it should be emphasized that it cost HARVEST a mere 3.47 BNB to deploy the entire stack (based on the current price at the time of this writing the transaction cost HARVEST approximately $876.97).

As BINANCE is a highly centralized entity, this move for HARVEST is a move away from its core principle of decentralization. Nonetheless, as with most other DeFi projects on ETHEREUM, Harvest (and its investors) are feeling the pain of high gas fees. HARVEST'S focus has always been on providing the best yield for its farmers. As a greater value is safely available on BSC, moving some of the tractors to BSC is in line with HARVEST'S core principles of maximizing yield to its farmers.
