There is a lie that has been fed to us since we were children. That becoming rich is something that is so difficult, and very few can achieve it. With this way of thinking ingrained in our heads since childhood, many believe that it’s impossible for them. You’ll hear people explain that they don’t care about money or becoming wealthy and they care more about being happy. “That money can’t buy happiness.”
That is what we like to tell ourselves as the reason why we don’t try. Because we are “happy.” But the truth is that we can do both. In fact, while having a lot of money does create new kinds of stress in life; it does eliminate the biggest stressor there is; lack of money.
Many people would be surprised to learn that anyone can become rich. All it takes is hard work, patience, budgeting, and financial literacy. All of these things in combination after a long enough time will put you in a very good financial situation.
There is a famous story of a lifelong mailman in the US who made an average of just under $40k per year. By the time he retired, he was a multimillionaire. An achievement that most would think would be impossible for someone with his salary.
This is how he did it.
First and foremost, he was always very responsible with his money. Making a budget for each money. He always spent less than he earned. Each time he received his salary, before paying any bills he would make his weekly investment in the S&P 500. Then he let time work its magic. With an average yearly appreciation of 7%–10%, and continuing to invest even more capital. By the time he retire, this allowed him to become a multimillionaire. It was that simple.
Bringing this back to Bitcoin.
Many financial experts have called Bitcoin the investment opportunity of a lifetime. That its price will go up to millions of dollars per coin by 2030, and that will only be the beginning. They have predicted that Bitcoin will cause the largest transfer of wealth that the world has ever seen.
While the S&P 500 increases by an average of around 10% each year. In the Bitcoin market that would could happen on a Tuesday. A yearly gain of 10% would be one of the worst-performing years in Bitcoin’s history.
And so if you invest continuously as the mailman did, but instead, dollar-cost-averaging in Bitcoin. It’s likely that your performance will far exceed what he did. Your portfolio will appear like it's been on steroids.
Becoming wealthy really is that simple. All you need to do is save more than you spend. Budget heavily. And continue to invest for the long term. Over the next several decades, Bitcoin will change many people’s lives.
How about you? Do you have the patience to invest for the long term?
