My Crypto Routine for Success

By johnwege | johnwege | 12 Apr 2025

One of the most common questions that I receive from readers is how they can become successful by writing about cryptocurrency. They ask for any tips that I might have, what my secret is, and even my thoughts on crypto that they like. Whether by writing or by investing, most of us in the cryptocurrency market are hoping to find a way to get ahead in life and potentially obtain financial freedom.

Thankfully in the cryptocurrency market, all of that is possible and even more. However, unlike the common stereotype where getting rich via crypto is easy. The truth is that it won’t be easy. In fact, for most, it will be a grueling and long process that will test you in more ways than you could have ever imagined.

Today I will be talking about my daily crypto routine and how it helps me be successful in both investing in crypto, but also writing and keeping up to date with everything happening in the market. This routine can work just as well if you decide to write or are solely interested in only investing in the market. Either way, my methods stay almost exactly the same.

As I’m sure you know, building routines are critically important to becoming successful in life. Not only in crypto or financial markets, but in all aspects of life. One such example would be going to the gym and exercising. Those who are inconsistent and exercise randomly are much more likely to quit than those who make exercising a part of their daily schedule. Because I have so much conviction in Bitcoin and where the market is heading in the future, I have made crypto a significant part of my daily routine. There isn’t a day that goes by without me doing something in this market, and if I’m being honest with myself. I definitely go overboard. What I do, probably isn’t what is best for you. But, it will give you a good idea of what you can be doing.

To understand my daily crypto routine, it is probably important to know my personality first. I’m extremely curious and also strive to learn new things each day. I have an obsessive personality that is most focused on becoming successful. This is where my never-ending motivation and dedication each day comes from. That is also where my obsession with growing my crypto portfolio and constantly accumulating comes from as well.

Wake up

6:30 AM to 9:30 AM — Coffee & Learning

In the morning I wake up and start my day with my biggest addiction, coffee. After coffee, this is my time dedicated to keeping up to date with all of the market news and researching. I will read articles from my favorite authors, browse new sites, Twitter, Reddit, watch crypto-related videos on YouTube, and also listen to crypto-related podcasts. Since I live on the other side of the world, my main goal here is to catch up on everything that happened in the crypto markets in the USA while was sleeping and absorb as much crypto learning as I possibly can. Hopefully becoming an expert in the topics that I was learning about.

9:30 AM to 12:00 PM — Writing & Brainstorming

After my morning learning time, I then move on to writing. My writing style is simply to write about what I’m thinking about, and what I’m most passionate about and interested in. More often than not, it will be something I was thinking about while I was researching earlier in the morning. I do this every single day.

An interesting fact for many of you might be that I actually only publish about 20% of what I have written. The reason for this is that I use my writing as a way to think out my ideas and make plans. By writing, it helps me to visualize better. This means that I not only use this time to write crypto-related articles but also use it to write my ongoing book, research crypto projects, creating businesses or side hustles, financial plans, and almost anything you could imagine. My writing time is my brainstorming time. I usually only post the articles that I feel will be interesting for readers, while I have hundreds of articles saved in drafts, or have simply deleted them.

12:00 PM — 11:00 PM — Work & Family Time

Unfortunately crypto doesn’t pay all of my bills yet and I must still work. From 12 PM to 11 PM which sometimes differs, I eat lunch, work, eat dinner, do house cleaning and spend time with my wife.

Cryptocurrency is a market that can take over your life if you let it. Especially if you have an obsessive personality like I do. This means that it is very important to maintain balance in your life and always remember what is most important. I always do my best to remember this.

However, with that said, while I’m working I am constantly thinking and learning about crypto as well. Usually by listening to podcasts while I work. For better or worse, I will always have crypto prices pulled up on my computer screen and keep up to date on everything happening. No time is wasted, I’m always learning.

11:00 PM to 1:00 AM — Freetime

Finally, this is the time that I dedicate to unwinding before going to bed. This is when I might watch a TV show or movie, read a book, pursue other hobbies, watch videos on YouTube that aren’t crypto-related or simply unplug from technology and also spend more time with my family. In the past, I sometimes have felt guilty if I’m not using every minute of the day to strive toward my goals. And so I decided to keep this time as a time when I can mentally relax from everything.

That is what I like to say, however often I find myself checking up on the crypto industry, and beginning to think about what I need to accomplish the next day. I’ll often go to bed and fall asleep while listening to crypto podcasts. And then I wake up and do it all again the next day.

Keeping this routine for the last few years has been the thing I attribute most to my success in the crypto market. As many of you know, keeping up to date in this industry is a job in itself. However, if you are able to do that a whole new world of opportunities may present itself to you. Having the skills to separate great projects from junk projects. Learning about and participating in new projects that may later reward you with valuable airdrops. Being able to earn a decent side income by writing about what you are most passionate about. I also find it a great way to stay focused on my goals and helps to achieve them.

How about you? What is your crypto routine?
