On 22nd of October of 2020 the Egyptian authorities have effectively blocked most of the traffic towards one of the most popular secure chat application in the world. The block was granted on the most popular Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Egypt, including ADSL and 3G & 4G mobile internet, effectively blocking the country's access to Telegram.

• The customers of the most popular ISPs in Egypt including Orange, Vodafone and We have been effectively cut off from the access to the web, desktop and mobile versions of Telegram.
• The block targets the telegram.com domain itself and also all the host IP addresses associated with Telegram applications.
• A workaround of using VPN is reported to be effective, however many of the VPNs appear to be blocked off by the Egyptian authorities making this activity a bit harder.
