The month is considered the change of the warm season for the cultivation of the land and payment to the land (Pachamama) for allowing them to cultivate the land, build their houses and roads. The inhabitants look for them at dawn, and then pay homage to them with good omens with wine, coca, raise the “incense burner”, smoke with charcoal and plant species, for the possession of money, saluting the blessedness, the forces of nature. It is the living exercise of the Andean worldview asking for prosperity in business, greater profits and prosperity for their families.
It is a unique precedent, the trade of stone coins that takes place in a conditioned market, where supply and demand arise. Stones are sold at symbolic prices of one hundred thousand to one million, paying for their purchase, real sums from ten to one hundred soles each depending on the size and its flat shape, resembling a real coin.
Through videos on the internet networks, we observe the feverish activity of buying and selling stone coins, it is an exceptional case in financial activity. Juliaca is the city with the greatest economic power in the south of Peru, here it shows how it highlights the value of coins.
