(Disclaimer: The title implies this is a life lesson for you. It could be, but, it is mostly my mine. I don't have enough swagger to give you a lesson.)
I made a bold prediction at the beginning of last year that Bitcoin and all major crypto would remain flat in 2023. Also, I said that I had been almost completely out of crypto for some time, but that would gradually get back in over the year. Through many updates to that post, I came to the realization and then admitted I had no idea what I was talking about, as Bitcoin tripled.
No predictions this year, just that I am at the same point now that I was at last year. I liquidated almost all of my crypto I had acquired in 2023 for other plans at the beginning of January. (Except for some small amounts that are staked.) I could be wrong again, in fact, I probably will be.
My only ground to stand on is that if you are participating, learning and investing in crypto, you have to take advantage some times if you are up. You can only HODL so long. Who cares if you're up XXXX.XX dollars if you don't enjoy it. (The exception being if you get your enjoyment simply by being up XXXX.XX dollars.)

I used to work for a billionaire, and when I say worked, I mean I was a peon way down the ranks. I think I was in a total of three meetings with him in 20 years. At one point he reached the top ten richest people in the world. His employees always talked about if they were as rich as "Charlie" they would have long quit their jobs and be doing such and such. I always had two issue with people that thought like that. The first being, that you will never have that kind of money specifically because you think like that. Two, if you really wanted to do such and such, you would have quit a long time ago and just done it.
Some people are born to be billionaires, they don't all make it, but, they have that drive. Some people are born to travel their whole life, and their income doesn't stop them from doing it. My point being, you have to make things at happen at some point. I worked 20 years making a living and saving. I got married late and started having kids and it dawned on me that I didn't want to do that anymore, so I just walked away at 45 years old. I still work when I want, and travel when I want, (and spend 30 minutes writing articles that make .15) not because I am rich, but, because I was determined to live my life this way now.
This is why my old self would HODL and my current self cashes out every once in awhile.
