I know I am suffering from some real cabin fever. This is my second article on snow, and after the reaction to my first one, I expect it to be seen by less than 100 people. My only plan to ward off my three kids from driving me insane is the "Card Game." I have to say I am really proud of it. I write a whole bunch of activities, games, chores and anything else that will occupy my kids times on index cards and turn them upside down on the coffee table. Such gems include: Watch A Movie, Group Hug, Board Game, Exercise Time, Clean The Play Room, Compliment Everyone In The Family, Extra Dessert. It works great as long as the fun cards outnumber the chore cards. If I am on my game, the cards will take up the entire day. I also write a small code on the corner of the card, so I can manage a when they are chosen. You don't want "Watch A Movie" to pop up right before it is time to eat lunch.
My personal favorite this time around was "Find The Quarters." I hid a few dollars worth of quarters around the house for them to find and they could keep any that they found.
Well, tomorrow it should be back above freezing for the first time in four days. In my town, we don't get snow enough to have equipment to clear the streets, we just have to wait until it melts. I grew up on a farm in small town in the deep south United States, I know there are people that can drive in this type of weather, but, I am not one of them.
